Contact Us and other FAQ

How can you contact us? You can reach us by email or by cell phone. When we’re out on the water, we don’t always have reception. It’s usually better to email me when you have a question. If you feel that it’s urgent you can always text us as well. The number provided is a cell phone and text usually still goes through in poor reception areas.

Your questions are important to us and will get back to you as soon as we can. Please do not contact Bass River Marina with questions about our services. They will not be able to help you.

Other FAQ

  • Does the boat come with a mate? Depending on the trip, some trips don’t require one.
  • How many people can come? We limit the number of paying customers to four.
  • Who keeps the fish?  The guests keep their legal limits of fish caught with the exception of giant tuna. We are required to sell any landed Giant Bluefin Tuna under our current license.
  • Do you clean and prep the fish? Yes
  • Is the boat Kid Friendly? Yes, but with the offshore trips please use discretion.
  • Is the boat Handicapped accessible? There is a ramp down the dock but not to get into or out of the boat.
  • Insurance? Yes, we are fully licensed and insured.
  • When does the season start? May. The state will determine the opening day for Black Sea Bass and Fluke but it’s usually around the third week in May.
  • When does the season end? We will make our last trip out in either late October or early November depending on the weather and current fishing conditions.
  • Should we tip the mate? This is completely up to you but traditionally, yes. The mate’s tip should be somewhere around 15-20% of the trip. The mates work very hard and they will be instrumental in helping you catch fish and have a great time on the water.
  • What payment methods do you accept? We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Cash. Sorry, but no personal checks. Payment is expected in full at the end of your trip. If you prefer, you can also pay in full before your trip. Just contact us and we can assist you with that.
  • Is there a deposit? Yes. Each trip has a predetermined deposit amount which can range from $100 – $300.
  • Is the deposit refundable if I cancel? Yes, as long as you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.
  • What if the captain cancels the trip? Do I get my deposit back? Yes. We will do our best to find another day and time that will suit your needs but if that isn’t possible, you’ll receive a full refund.
